Rise Up Hot Air Balloon Festival is a community festival to bring awareness to mental health and raise everybody up. The event is hosted by Our Collective Journey, in partnership with hot air balloon pilots Willy and Cindy Taillon.

Great Big Pedal June 18, 2025 Bike Medicine Hat invites cyclists to pump their tires, clip their helmets, and meet at Kin Coulee Park to bike the scenic pathways during Medicine Hat’s largest cycling event. Great Big Pedal is a free event for all ages, abilities, levels of riders, and bike models from e-bikes, to road, recumbent, tandem, and mountain. Cyclists choose a five, 10, or 20 kilometre trail that takes them through beautiful natural spaces, like Kin Coulee Park and Saratoga Park.

At the end of the ride, dine local food trucks to fuel up after a beautiful ride through Medicine Hat’s coulee landscape. “The trails are so diverse with the creek and river, hillside coulees, and all the different wildlife you see. You’re immersed in so much nature,” says Shelley Acheson, director and event coordinator of Bike Medicine Hat. The Hills Are Alive: Music and Dance Cultural Fest June 12-15, 2025 Showcasing Métis and Indigenous culture, the gathering brings together talented musicians, dancers, and cultural teachers in a traditional setting of tipi’s and trapper’s tents. The event features instrument workshops, from fiddle to Métis jigging, and artisans offer instruction in sash finger weaving, Métis beading, hand drum making, and smaller crafting. Pump Track The pump track beside Gas City Campground is officially open. The paved course has two tracks — one for youth and beginners and the other for advanced skill sets. The circuits are designed to be ridden completely by “pumping”, moving up and down to generate momentum. Anything with wheels can use the pump track: bikes, scooters, skateboards, wheelchairs, rollerblades, and roller skates.

Three Mountain Bike Destinations Three drastically different landscapes within 45 minutes of each other, Medicine Hat, Redcliff, and Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park offer epic mountain bike trails. If you’re looking to learn or polish your skills, Hidden Gem Cycling and Sharp MTB Skills offer lessons.
