Experience Guide | Tourism Medicine Hat
Disc Golf This family-friendly sport has
baskets in three parks. Leinweber Park and Gilwell Park are connected to a trail that brings you to a beautiful view of South Railway Street and Strathcona Island Park. Kiwanis Central Park has a playground with the City-favoured whale slide, features four of Marina Cole’s chainsaw wood carvings, and is close to seasonal ice cream shop, Swirls .
Sunshine Trolleys The Sunshine Trolley stops at five landmarks in the city, where you can briefly explore each area. Scan a Trolley Stories QR code before hopping on board, connect your headphones, and listen to the recordings of locals telling stories. For around 90 minutes, experience Medicine Hat’s outdoor and historic features.
Strathcona Island Park In Canada’s Sunniest City, a waterpark is bound to keep everyone cool on those hot summer days. This park has playgrounds, firepits, picnic tables, a paved trail along the South Saskatchewan River. Being very close to Medicine Hat’s Historic Downtown, a bite to eat is always nearby but roasting dinner on the available firepits isn’t too bad of an idea either.
Gas City Campground With a playground, off-leash dog park, and mountain biking and paved trails, this camp ground is full of activities. An asphalt pump track was recently built as well. Around the camp ground, you can spot Marina Cole’s chainsaw wood carvings. Hoopla’s Family Entertainment Centre is just down the road — play a round of mini golf with a beautiful view. Book a cabin experience with the newly built comfort cabins.
Echo Dale Regional Park Echo Dale Regional Park is the perfect day trip to bask in the sun, swim the lake, and make sand castles. There’s a playground, historic farm with animals, concession stand, off-leash dog and mountain biking tails, and picnic spots. Read more about Echo Dale Regional Park on pages 30-31!
