Medicine Hat tradition over the years, and it returns Friday, November 21, 2025 from 4:00p.m. to 12:00a.m. Downtown Shopping Local boutiques, eateries, coffee shops, bakeries, and studios stay open until midnight in Medicine Hat’s Historic Down town. Find the perfect gifts, indulge in locally made dishes, and take in the Holiday spirit in the heart of the city. Live Music Local musicians and singers per form along the streets and avenues and inside local businesses through out downtown at Midnight Madness.

Photos with Santa Claus Santa Claus always makes a special appear ance during Midnight Madness. Bring along the family for a photo and to share with Santa Claus what you’d like for Christmas. Tree Lighting The tall pine tree in BATUS Park is lit up the evening of Midnight Madness. The commu nity gathers after the sun sets, and everyone counts down for the annual tree lighting.
