Welcome to Medicine Hat Our city is home to many wonderful recreation facilities, built for residents, guests and visitors alike. We understand the costs associated with building these facilities, but also see the value of this investment in our community. Every year our city hosts hundreds of sporting, recreational events and tournaments that inspire our community to be active and provide us with opportunities to socialize and have fun. We are thrilled to have won the opportunity to host the national 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games. This will be an incredible opportunity to showcase our city and offer memorable experiences for athletes, coaching staff, residents, and volunteers. The Medicine Hat Facility Guide is produced for free distribution and access in Canada by the Medicine Hat Sport and Event Council (MHSEC). The MHSEC is a standing committee of Tourism Medicine Hat, managed by the Medicine Hat Destination Marketing Organization, under contract through the City of Medicine Hat.
