Trails Medicine Hat has 190+ kilometres of trails that lead you around the coulees, up and down the hills, throughout the trees, and along the South Saskatchewan River. MCCUTCHEON TRAIL Bringing a panoramic view of Medicine Hat, including the Historic Downtown, in the far distance you can faintly see the rolling hills in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park. DEVONIAN TRAIL Featuring the South Saskatchewan River, Historic Finlay Bridge, and Historic Railway Bridge, if you find yourself in Medicine Hat’s Historic Downtown, this trail is only a few blocks away. SARATOGA TRAIL Fully encompassing trail users in the coulees and cottonwood trees, there is a portion of the path that highlights the Métis community who lived in the park until the early 2010s. POLICE POINT PARK TRAILS Known for its Northwest Mounted Police and Indigenous histories, enjoy the view of old cottonwood trees, some being 200-300 years old. Visit The Nature Centre to learn more about the area. POLICE POINT WEST TRAIL Connected to Police Point Park, this trail brings you alongside the South Saskatchewan River. Pet some puppies along the way, and watch the sunlight reflect off the water. TRANSCANADA TRAIL This trail is a part of the Trans Canada Trail in Canada. The entire length is 27,000 kilometres and connects the Atlantic, Pacific, and Arctic oceans. Both Riverside Trails and Strathcona Island Park Trails are connected to this system.
