Echo Dale Regional Park
Lions Park A classic picnic park with broad areas of shady grass, a ball park, playground and horseshoe pits. Trails can be found in the trees and if you find one that leads to the river’s edge, you will find a fantas- tic view of Police Point park on the other side. Nearby is the Strathcona Centre which offers swimming and tennis. Echo Dale Regional Park Echo Dale, the largest of Medicine Hat’s parks, is located a short distance west of Medicine Hat along the South Saskatchewan River. The park has two man-made lakes; one for swimming and one for paddle boating and fishing. Two beach volleyball courts andmany picnic spots with fire pits are available. There are alsomany kilometers of hiking trails through the coulees, one of which leads to the Gas City Campground. Access to the South Saskatchewan River is available via a boat launch.
Echo Dale Regional Park is open year round.
The Echo Dale Historical Farm features theWoolfrey House, blacksmith shop, Ajax mine, Grandma’s Attic, a barn and a barn shelter. The barn shelter is an open-air building available for rent which can host up to 150 people. It contains nine picnic tables with fire pits close by. For Farm tours, call 403.527.7344 Day-Use Area. This small building with a wood-burning stove can hold up to 30 people. It is one kilometer from the boat lake, close to the river, and surrounded by a large expanse of grass.
